Lions Club New Delhi Alaknanda received its charter in the year 1993 under the visionary leadership of Founder President Lion K.D. Baheti, along with the dedicated support of its esteemed charter members: Lion S.L. Bagri, Lion Anand Maheshwari, Lion N.M. Agarwal, Lion S.V. Apte, Lion Rajendra Kumar Bafna, Lion V.P. Bagri, Lion Narayan Kumar Baheti, Lion O.P. Baheti, Lion Aman Bahl, Lion G.P. Bansal, Lion Nirmal Chhajer, Lion Vimal Chordia, Lion Arun Gupta, Lion Vinay Maloo, Lion Arvind Sharda, Lion Hansraj Nahata, Lion Dr. H.L. Naulakha, Lion Anil Rathi, Lion Rajendra Bagrecha, Lion K. Naiyar, Lion P.C. Sancheti, Lion R.K. Somani, Lion S.M. Somani, and Lion Shyam Bagri.

Founded with the purpose of promoting Lionism and living the spirit of “We Serve,” the club is dedicated to making a meaningful difference in society through humanitarian service, leadership development, and civic engagement. Since its inception, the club has actively contributed to diverse areas such as healthcare, education, environmental conservation, youth empowerment, disaster relief, and community development.​

Our mission is to empower Lions clubs, volunteers and partners to improve health and wellbeing, strengthen communities, and support those in need through humanitarian service and grants that impact lives globally, and encourage peace and international understanding. And we fulfill it every day, everywhere we serve.
