The Chiranji Lal Dhanuka Memorial Service Award is one of the most esteemed recognitions conferred annually by Lions Club New Delhi Alaknanda, instituted with the noble intention of honouring individuals and organizations committed to long-term, impactful social service. This award has been presented each year since 2016, aligning with the Installation Ceremony of the incoming President and the newly inducted leadership team of the Club.

This distinguished award was established by Lion M.K. Dhanuka, a senior and respected member of the club, in cherished memory of his beloved father, Late Shri Chiranji Lal Dhanuka. It is funded and administered through the Chiranji Lal Dhanuka Charitable Trust, which supports the Club’s mission of encouraging selfless service and societal betterment. Each year, the chosen awardee is honoured with a shawl, a specially designed memento, and a monetary prize of ₹1,00,000 (One Lakh Rupees) as a token of appreciation for their outstanding contributions.

The purpose of this award is not only to recognize excellence but also to inspire continued commitment to social welfare in diverse yet deeply impactful areas. The award particularly focuses on recognizing work that creates sustainable and measurable change in the following key domains:
