Lion Subhash Lakhotia Service Award
🏅 Lion Subhash Lakhotia Memorial Award
With a vision to promote and encourage social service beyond the Lions fraternity, one of the founding pillars of Lions Club New Delhi Alaknanda, Late Lion Subhash Lakhotia (Past President 1998–99 and Extension Chairman), instituted the Lion Subhash Lakhotia Memorial Award in 2014. He generously created a corpus of ₹12.5 lakhs to fund an annual award of ₹1 lakh, which is conferred during the Charter Night of the Club to a service-oriented individual or organization anywhere in India.
Over the years, the award has evolved into a well-structured and transparent selection process. A jury comprising the President, select Past Presidents, and senior members—this year chaired by Lion Anand Maheshwari, MJF—carries out a rigorous evaluation based on nominations, interviews, scoring criteria, and impact analysis. The focus areas include healthcare, disability support, elderly care, and other impactful social causes.
Since its inception in 2016, the award has recognized outstanding contributions by individuals and NGOs across the country:
-

-
2017: Jan Madhyam – empowering persons with disabilities
